Hancock County, Mississippi –
A Hancock County Sheriff’s Department deputy is very lucky to be alive after he was ambushed by three men armed with at least one box cutter.
The deputy, Todd Frazier, was assaulted by the three men in what can only be called an ambush style attack. If it wasn’t for his K9 partner, a black Belgian Malinois, Deputy Frazier may not be here today.
Deputy Frazier was investigating a suspicious vehicle sitting in a local parking lot when the driver and two other men surrounded the deputy and attacked him, telling him that they were going to kill him and slit his throat.
As the men were dragging Deputy Frazier to a nearby section of woods to carry out the murder, Frazier was able to free one of his hands. He did not reach for a weapon, instead he managed to access a remote control to operate the latch on his vehicle, releasing his K9 partner.
Upon realizing the situation at hand, Lucas jumped into action and charged the three men, biting two of them and successfully stopping the attack.
“The three of them were dragging him toward the wooded area, and he was able to break one hand free to activate the button that opens the door and it released Lucas,” Chief Deputy Don Bass said.
“We don’t know how many he got, we just know he had blood all over him,” Sheriff Ricky Adam said.
Now that is a good dog!
