According to TMZ and Billboard, the rapper Lil Wayne was leaving the Compound nightclub in Atlanta, early Sunday morning when his tour bus took on gunfire.
Wayne had been performing at the Atlanta “hotspot” with a few other Young Money execs including Lil Twist and Hood who were also onboard when shot rang out shortly after 3:30 AM, as the rapper’s two tour buses were pulling away from the club.
It appears that no one was injured in the fracas, and it is unknown whether Wayne was actually on the bus that was hit, but we do know that Law Enforcement wasn’t called until the bus arrived at a nearby hotel.
Law Enforcement states that witnesses couldn’t provide much information regarding the shooting, other than it involved two white vehicles, possibly a Chevy Corvette and an SUV.
We’re told witnesses on the buses didn’t see much — their only description of the suspects is that they were in 2 white vehicles … a sports car (possibly a Corvette) and an SUV.
Billboard magazine’s online staff has reached out to the rapper for more details, but as of yet, have not received a response.
