BREAKING NEWS: New York Prison Escapee Shot & Killed By Law Enforcement

DEVELOPING (Fox News):

A New York Law Enforcement Source confirmed to Fox News that Law Enforcement has shot and killed Richard Matt, one of two New York prison escapees.

Matt was found and killed in a remote area of Franklin County, N.Y, where a widespread manhunt has been underway after the two escapees had reportedly taken refuge in two nearby two hunting cabins. The other escapee, David Sweat,  has reportedly not yet been located.

The Buffalo News has reported that a “shoot out” occurred near Malone, New York, and Matt was fatally shot by law enforcement.

Matt and David Sweat, both convicted murderers, escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York, roughly three weeks ago. Sweat is still believed to be on the run, police said.

 

UPDATE: 5:19 EST –

New York State Police sources have now confirmed that they are in pursuit of the other escapee, convicted murderer David Sweat.
